What Makes Windermere High School Unique?

Windermere High School has taken a uniquely different approach for the past 50 years! Our certified caring teachers, and upright Christian standards meet and exceed the norm. WHS will equip your child to take on the vocational and spiritual challenges that. daily life can bring. Our graduates go on to lead successful lives globally!

Windermere High School is established to provide quality education in a Christian environment for boys and girls, in grades 7-12. Student study with us as both day or boarding students. Our curriculum follows the standards of The Bahamas Junior Certificate and The Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education, along with other required classes of enrichment.

WHS educates  a maximum of 125 students each year so that we can offer innovative, world-class learning experiences in a safe and caring school community. We measure our success by the growth of each of our students. Our campus, set on a beautiful waterfront in Savannah Sound which provides a therapeutic and the perfect environment to ensure that each student is active and involved. We present just the right amount of challenge for every individual student. WHS provides an abundance of opportunities so all our students reach their utmost potential.  Our students go on to attend top universities around the world.

What it all comes down to is that WHS is an outstanding school which focuses on the student within a caring and supportive Bahamian community. The faculty is not only highly qualified and skilled, but they have a true passion for education and are Born Again Christians. They go above and beyond daily as this is not just a job, but a way of life. Anyone who comes for a visit will remark on the incredible school environment. More About Windermere High School!

This school was established to provide quality education in a Christian environment for both boys and girls. We facilitate education for grades 7 to 12 welcoming both day students and boarding students to our campus. Boarding students residing on the island are able to go home for weekends, while students from outside the island are encouraged to visit home during, mid-term, Christmas, and Easter breaks. Dorm parents are available to help meet student’s needs, and meals are served in a family style setting in the dining hall.

Location

Windermere High School is located in Savannah Sound settlement on the island called Eleuthera in The Bahamas. The school has a beautiful view to the east of the Atlantic Ocean and to the West of the Exuma Sound.

Sports & Clubs

We encourage all students to be involved in any of the sporting programs like: softball, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.
Clubs such as keyboard and band are also available for students to join.

Curriculum

Our curriculum follows the standards of the Bahamas Junior Certificate (BJC 9th grade government examinations) and the Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE 12th grade government exams).

Environment

At Windermere High School, keeping up with technology trends are important to us. We engage all of of students in technology by enrollment in computer classes. We also make use of different platforms such as Virtual Classrooms such as Google Classrooms.
